TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) mainly has the following important functions:

 

I. Safety Assurance

 

1. Prevent Tire Blowouts
   • Insufficient tire pressure is one of the main causes of tire blowouts. When the tire pressure is too low, the contact area between the tire and the ground increases, and the friction also increases, which will cause the sidewall of the tire to bend and deform excessively. Driving in this state for a long time, cracks will occur in the tire sidewall due to excessive fatigue and may eventually lead to a blowout. TPMS can monitor the tire pressure in real - time. Once the pressure is below the set safety threshold, it will promptly alert the driver, reminding the driver to take measures such as inflating the tire or replacing the tire, thus effectively reducing the risk of a blowout. For example, when driving on a highway, without TPMS, the driver may hardly notice the slow decrease of the tire pressure. However, TPMS can immediately send an alarm when there is an abnormality in the pressure, allowing the driver to pull over and check before a blowout accident occurs, avoiding a dangerous situation.
2. Enhance Vehicle Handling Stability
   • Appropriate tire pressure is crucial for vehicle handling. When the tire pressure is unbalanced, the vehicle's driving posture will be affected. For example, if the pressure of one side of the tire is too low, the vehicle will tilt to that side during driving, resulting in heavy steering and also deviation during braking and acceleration.
